The Pocher K74 is a highly detailed 1:8 scale static model kit of the legendary 1935 Mercedes-Benz 500K-AK Cabriolet. The model was developed by Pocher in Italy in the mid-1970s and released as part of the famous Pocher Classic series. This series was known for its exceptional detailing, large scale, and realistic construction.
The kit consists of thousands of parts and is assembled using screws, bolts, metal parts, rubber tires, and various functioning components. The finished model features, among other things, a detailed engine compartment, working steering mechanism, movable doors, hoods, and a realistic interior. Many parts are mechanically assembled rather than glued, which was unique for a model kit at the time.
The model for this kit is the Mercedes-Benz 500K, one of the most prestigious luxury automobiles of the 1930s. The original car was built between 1934 and 1936 and was equipped with a five-liter eight-cylinder engine with a supercharger, combining performance and luxury at an exceptionally high level.
